About RSVP
Established in 1971 and now one of the largest senior volunteer organizations in the nation, RSVP engages people age 55 and older in a diverse range of volunteer activities. RSVP volunteers choose how, where, and how often they want to serve, with commitments ranging from a few hours to many hours per week.

RSVP is part of Senior Corps, a network of national and community service programs that each year supports the engagement of nearly 500,000 Americans age 55 and older in service to meet critical needs in education, the environment, public safety, homeland security, and other areas. Senior Corps is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service in Washington D.C. The mission of the Corporation is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering.

Flexibility in Serving
RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to serve their communities.
RSVP volunteers choose how and where they want to serve—from a few hours to more than 40 hours a week.

RSVP volunteers are able to put their unique talents and a lifetime of experience to work for community, faith-based organizations and programs that are significant to them. In addition, they receive the following benefits:

Supplemental accident insurance while volunteering
Accidental death and dismemberment coverage while volunteering
Excess liability automobile insurance while driving to and from volunteer
Awards and recognition events every other year
Affiliation with 500,000 senior volunteers working in 800 cities and towns nationwide
The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of seniors and the community
