Mission
The New Orleans Council on Aging (NOCOA) exists to protect the rights, promote the well being, and enhance the self-esteem of New Orleans elderly by generating opportunities for self-reliance and independence.

The New Orleans Council on Aging is a private, non-profit corporation which serves as the Area Agency on Aging for Orleans Parish. The agency is responsible for insuring that a comprehensive and coordinated assortment of social, recreational, educational, and nutritional services are provided to persons aged 60 and over in the City of New Orleans.

Senior Centers

Opportunities abound for interactive activities and peer interaction at our senior centers. We invite all ages to participate, especially youth who are integral to the benefits of intergenerational exchange and communion with our elders. A variety of activities are provided, such as bingo, dancing, exercise, card games, and arts and crafts. Operation Hours: Monday thru Friday from 8:00am -- 4:00pm


Activities at the senior/community centers include: special activities, celebrations, classes, field trips, and scheduled speakers as well as programming that occurs on a regularly scheduled basis, each week or each month. Come observe, enlist, and be a part of a enriching and stimulating community of seniors.
