McKenna Museum Grand Re-opening Weekend

On behalf of Dr. Dwight McKenna, the Founder of the George & Leah
McKenna Museum of African American Art, the Director and staff
cordially invite you to join us for our Grand Re-opening event.
Guests will have the opportunity to experience an exciting evening
and take a last look at the brilliant exhibit "Reflections of a Glass
Menagerie: Works on Reverse Glass by J'Renee" and the
exiting "Santiago de Cuba: Rebirth and Congas en la calle"
photography exhibit. The evening will feature the melodic sounds of
New Orleans' own, trumpeter Troy Sawyer. With visitors coming in from
various locales around the country, this once in a lifetime event is
something you don't want to miss!

Bring the family out for a day of storytelling, guided tours, hands-
on art activities, vendors and more as we celebrate the McKenna
Museum's commitment to community and education during our Grand Re-
opening Weekend. Family Day is generously
co-sponsored by Borders Bookstore.

HBCU Fair sponsored by YFS

Regular Museum Admission

In celebration of Black History Month, the Young Friends Society of
A.D.I. and the McKenna Museum presents the YFS HBCU Fair. High school students and their parents will have an opportunity to speak to proud alumni of the country's leading Historically Black Colleges &
Universities. Representatives from college admissions and offices
will also be present to discuss the application process. The event
will also include a financial aid workshop for parents and students.
In addition, the "On the Yard" panel discussion will introduce
students to the ins and outs of going to an HBCU and defying the

Understanding Your Organization’s Finances back to top
Strong financial management is a cornerstone of organizational excellence. This half-day session will provide participants with an overview of financial procedures and systems, as well as the fiscal responsibility of organizational leadership. Topics include terms and concepts of financial management, filing IRS Form 990, securing an audit, internal controls and warning signs of poor financial management.
